Council Collaboration Continues
GRAAP is continuing to collaborate with Macedon Ranges Shire Council (MRSC) as Council proceeds with a feasabilitiy study to explore acquisition options for the old Romsey primary school site. Jodie Turner, MRSC’s Coordinator Places and Partnerships, has been incredibly supportive to the GRAAP committee, having invited comment about the study’s process. GRAAP will assist the study by providing evidence based input as to the value of this open space site both generally and in the context of the GRAAP project.

New Postcards
Keep an eye out for the GRAAP old primary school postcards to be launched at the Romsey Festival and coming soon to prominent points around town.

Swap Meet Fundraising
GRAAP conducted a very successful food stall at the recent inaugural Romsey Swap Meet. This event, organised jointly by the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club, was very well attended with over 126 swap sites and approximately 200 show cars. Great weather ensured plenty of hungry spectators were present to indulge in both GRAAP’s and the Lions Club’s hot food and cold drink offerings! GRAAP Committee is most grateful to the organisers for inviting the group’s participation.

Romsey Festival
By the time this Rag goes to print, another Romsey Festival will have passed. GRAAP’s plans for the festival include involvement in both fundraising (through a hot popcorn stall) as well as talk to community members about the old primary school site and the progress of acquisition discussions with MRSC. Events such as this are a great way for groups such as this to interface with its community. A sneak preview of GRAAP merchandise will also be available at the GRAAP stall. A full report will follow in the February edition of the Rag.
