Romsey and Lancefield Townships growth in next decade

SNAPSHOT of MACEDON RANGES:

The Macedon Ranges population is spread across nine towns and a number of smaller settlements. The largest towns are Gisborne, Kyneton, Romsey and Woodend. About 35% of people in Macedon Ranges live outside a town boundary in a rural setting.

ROMSEY and LANCEFIELD growth AREAS

According to latest data released by Macedon Ranges Shire Council, Romsey and Lancefield will have similar population growth predictions of about 1.3 per cent. The number of persons per household slightly falling to 2.5.

PREDICTIONS:

Lancefield district population to increase from 2699 to 3295 by 2026

Romsey (and districts) growth from 5675 to 6922

AGE Structure:replica-watch

Romsey: Average age 40 - 44 years. Largest increase in age with 75-79 range. 

Lancefield: Age range 50-54 (9.1%) of population with largest increase in the future will be 70-74 age bracket (6.8%)

New Estates:

Lomandra (Romsey) with 385 dwellings

Park Lane (Lancefield) subdivision with 90 dwellings
