Amazing  and a Huge Success!!!!

On Saturday 7th May, the Romsey Football Netball Club participated in the Riddell District Football League’s “Pink Footy& Netball Day” at Romsey Park.

The club felt the need to recognise and support people and their families affected by Breast Cancer and all the fabulous efforts from the Committee, Members and supporters on the day helped to raise the phenomenal amount of $11,500 to go to the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The day kicked of with all 3 Netball teams donning Pink uniforms for their matches against Wallan FNC and the Senior Team also wearing Pink jumpers in support of the BCNA.  A Ladies Luncheon with approximately 100 women from the Romsey community heard from guest speakers Pam Ryan (Olympian and Commonwealth Gold medallist) and a honest and open “journey” from Breast Cancer survivor and local resident Vicki Morrison.  At half time of the senior match, the crowd wearing pink wigs and balloons in hand, with special messages attached took to the centre square and made a memorial line and released hundreds of pink balloons in recognition of those who have lost their battle with , those who are fighting and those who have survived Breast Cancer. A very poignant moment for everyone involved.
