Macedon Ranges – Digital Resilience for Small Business workshop

Romsey Region Business and Tourism Association

Dear Romsey Region Business Community Members

Macedon Ranges Shire Council’s Business Support Officer, Alexis Owen, phoned me today ahead of sending the email below. The Economic Development and Tourism Unit is running an online Digital Resilience for Small Business workshop on 12th May (next Tuesday) with a particular focus on adapting to doing business online under the COVID-19 restrictions and improving your business’ social media presence.

No doubt, you are all feeling very busy at present. However, this workshop – free for RRBATA members and $20 for non members- may well equip you with some skills and knowledge to make things a little easier now and in the prolonged economic recovery period lying ahead.

To register, please phone Alexis Owen on 0408 130 176.

Alexis has also drawn attention in the email below to Council’s  Covid-19 Business support, one-stop-shop webpage containing links to the most current information from Council, State and Federal governments and other key agencies. https://www.mrsc.vic.gov.au/Live-Work/Healthy-Living/Coronavirus/Business-support-services

Romsey and Lancefield Business Support

Romsey Region Business and Tourism

RRBATA has assisted the Lancefield Romsey Community Support (LRCS) initiative of the two towns’ Neighbourhood Houses to draft a flyer for delivery to all Lancefield and Romsey households which lists businesses with delivery/phone order etc options (see below). This will be of particular assistance to community members who do not have access to social media or are unable to source information online and will hopefully facilitate local patronage of businesses during this social isolation period.

The flyer from LRCS which has been placed on RRBATA Facebook (Romsey Lancefield Business and Living) and on this website – Romsey Online (www.romsey.org.au) to inform businesses of the volunteer pool available to assist with product delivery to customers.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or if RRBATA can be of any support to you.

ROMSEY WHOLE TOWN GARAGE SALE

Maps from the HUB

(8 am to 12. 30 pm)

This weekend’s Romsey Whole Town Garage Sale is a chance to turn ‘trash’ into treasure.

Hosted by the Romsey Neighbourhood House, the one-day annual event invites residents to sell their pre-loved or new items.

Neighbourhood House committee President Allan Irvine said more than 40 Romsey families have registered to take part in this year’s event.

“The neighbourhood house produces a map and a list, which we sell on the day for $3, which guides them to all of the garage sales around town,” he said. “We also offer the option of selling at the hub where we will have a barbecue as well.”

Mr Irvine said there will be something for everyone to buy during the sale.

“People can sell anything you can imagine, it’s all available,” he said.

“If people are moving houses they can sell everything. Other people specialise in certain things, maybe car parts. It’s so broad that you can’t pin it down.”

Mr Irvine said the whole town garage sale was a great community event.

“There are cars buzzing all around Romsey on that morning,” he said. “It’s a very popular thing.”

The garage sale will be on Saturday, September 14 from 8am. Maps can be purchased at Romsey Community Hub, 96 Main Street.

To register your garage for $5 call 5429 6754.
