BUDBURST FESTIVAL 2019: Macedon Ranges
On 9 and 10 November 2019 between 10am and 5pm, across the region our wineries will open for the Macedon Ranges Wine and Food Budburst Festival so you can explore and experience the diversity of wine styles grown and vinified across this outstanding wine making region.
As most of our wineries are small and family owned, the Festival offers you a personalised experience to learn firsthand from some of Victoria’s best artisans of wine. Festival visitors can talk directly with the people who grew the grapes and made the wine.
A Festival Passport ticket gets you access across the weekend to all venues for wine tastings, live entertainment and good old fashioned country hospitality.
There is a reason people have been coming to Budburst for 30 years – find out for yourself and purchase your tickets.
The Macedon Ranges Wine Region is less than an hour from the Melbourne CBD.
Vineyard altitudes in the Macedon Ranges range from 300 to 800 metres above sea level. Our region is cool to cold by world standards. The popular varieties of the region are delicate sparkling wines, refined Chardonnay and award winning Pinot Noir. In vineyards surrounding Lancefield, Romsey and Trentham delicate floral aromas can be found in the wine due to slow ripening during cool autumnal temperatures. As we move beyond Kyneton toward the rocky outcrops to the Cobaws more robust styles can be found with Shiraz and Cabernet.
Most producers are boutique, family owned and lovingly producing signature wines, some using age-old techniques. As a result the Region offers wine that is limited in quantity and exceptionally high in quality.
